This is what part of an audit can look like. The example is fictional and does not show a real client's results.
Fictional example. This is not a real client or a measured result.

A service page has a noindex directive.
The page tells search engines not to include it in search results. First, confirm whether the page is intended to be publicly discoverable.
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">If the page belongs in search, remove the unintended directive and check what is adding it to the page.
Load the page again and check that the directive is gone. Then check the available indexing status separately in Search Console.
Fictional data to explain the process.
These are not real client results.

A service page has a noindex directive.
- Page
- /services/boiler-servicing
- Finding and evidence
- The page tells search engines not to include it in search results. First, confirm whether the page is intended to be publicly discoverable.
<meta name="robots" content="noindex"> - Why it matters
- First, I confirm whether this page should appear in search. For a public page describing a core service, this is a significant barrier.
- Proposed repair
- If the page belongs in search, remove the unintended directive and check what is adding it to the page.
- Verification
- Load the page again and check that the directive is gone. Then check the available indexing status separately in Search Console.
- What remains unknown
- Removing the directive does not guarantee indexing or a particular ranking.
A service link leads to a 404.
- Page
- example.test/services/
- Finding and evidence
- A link from the services overview points to a URL that returns a 404 in this example.
GET /services/servicing → 404 - Why it matters
- Visitors cannot reach the service detail page from the overview. I check which page should be the destination.
- Proposed repair
- Update the link to the appropriate existing page. Assess any redirect based on the original content.
- Verification
- Open the link again from the overview and check both the destination and the server response.
- What remains unknown
- The number of inquiries lost because of this issue is unknown.
The scope of the service is unclear.
- Page
- example.test/installation/
- Finding and evidence
- The example page mentions installation but does not explain what is included or what information the customer should send.
- Why it matters
- An automated check cannot determine the right answer on its own. The client needs to supply the actual service details.
- Proposed repair
- Add the service scope, conditions and required information using details confirmed by the client.
- Verification
- The client confirms that the information is correct. I check the published page and the path to the inquiry form.
- What remains unknown
- The effect on search visibility and inquiries will be assessed separately.
